DU helps students affected by financial uncertaintyFinancial uncertainty has affected every sector of the global economy— including higher education. Recently the University redoubled its efforts to constrain expenses and to make sure that our resources are invested in our core activity—the education of our students. We have also increased financial aid funding for undergraduate students to meet their increasing demonstrated need for financial aid. Additionally, we have dedicated $2 million dollars in emergency financial aid funding for the 2009-2010 academic year should a family’s financial circumstances change in a documented way. Status of the current DU admission cycleThe University of Denver recently concluded the admission process for the fall 2009 incoming class. We received approximately 10,700 applications, a 29% increase from last year, to enroll a class of 1,145 first-year students. Our admitted students currently have the following academic profile:
