DU Among First to Offer Sustainability Minor

DU students have often shown a passion for sustainability—and now they can officially incorporate that passion into their education through the new sustainability minor launched this fall.

Originally conceived by the university's faculty-led sustainability council, the innovative minor can be combined with almost any major.

“One of the themes of sustainability is how interdisciplinary it is,” says Lisa Dale, a DU lecturer teaching sustainability courses. “You can be in any field and work in sustainability. Sustainability is relevant in every field.”

DU's commitment to sustainability is evident across all levels of the university, from campus-wide renewable energy programs to student-led initiatives such as the new bike lending library. Offering one of the nation's first sustainability minors further establishes DU as a leader in one of the prominent global issues of our day. Read more.

The Ammi Hyde Interview
We strongly encourage every student who applies to DU to schedule a Hyde Interview—a face-to-face meeting with one to three members of the DU community, including alumni, faculty and staff. Hyde Interviews take place in 30 cities across the country, and interviews last about 20 minutes. Interview periods for the Fall 2010 class will take place in early November 2009 for Early Action applicants and in February 2010 for Regular Decision applicants. Learn more.

Financial Aid
DU requires students to submit the CSS PROFILE in addition to the FAFSA in order to receive need-based aid. The CSS PROFILE provides prospective families with a personalized application for financial aid, tailored to fit their specific situation.
