DU Among First to Offer Sustainability MinorDU students have often shown a passion for sustainability—and now they can officially incorporate that passion into their education through the new sustainability minor launched this fall. Originally conceived by the university's faculty-led sustainability council, the innovative minor can be combined with almost any major. “One of the themes of sustainability is how interdisciplinary it is,” says Lisa Dale, a DU lecturer teaching sustainability courses. “You can be in any field and work in sustainability. Sustainability is relevant in every field.”

Why Students Choose DUCollaborative LearningAs a mid-size university, DU offers the benefits of close faculty relationships in a liberal arts setting as well as the breadth of programs, resources and opportunities of a large research-based university. Students cultivate their passions by conducting their own research and working side-by-side with professors on projects with real-world applications through our Partners in Scholars program or by working with diverse communities both in Denver and around the world through meaningful service learning experiences.
